Meet Jackie Kelly
Military Veteran. Bilingual Solar Advocate. 30-Year Humanitarian.
How It All Started
In 1990, a group of children from The GOD’S CHILD Project visited Jackie’s high school in the United States. They played volleyball together, practiced Spanish, and shared stories about their lives in Antigua, Guatemala. That afternoon planted a seed that has grown for more than three decades.
Jackie has supported The GOD’S CHILD Project ever since, helping to care for orphaned and poverty-stricken children through financial support, advocacy, and awareness. Today, that commitment drives everything she does in solar energy. Her ultimate goal is to fund and install solar panels at the GOD’S CHILD orphanage and Casa Jackson Hospital in Guatemala, protecting vulnerable children and patients from the dangerous grid outages that plague the region.
Service Before Self
Jackie is a proud military veteran who served her country with distinction. The values she learned in the service – integrity, discipline, putting others before yourself – are the same values she brings to every client conversation. She does not cut corners. She does not make promises she cannot keep. And she does not recommend a solar solution unless it is genuinely the right move for the person sitting across from her.
Jackie is also fluent in Spanish, which allows her to serve Maryland’s growing Spanish-speaking community and connects her directly to the families and staff at The GOD’S CHILD Project in Guatemala.
Walking the Walk
Jackie does not just talk about clean energy – she lives it. She purchased an electric vehicle in December 2025 and charges it at home using electricity offset by solar. While gas prices hover above $4.30 per gallon, Jackie’s daily commute costs her almost nothing. She knows firsthand what solar and clean energy can do for a family’s budget because she experiences it every single day.
That personal experience makes her a more effective consultant. When a homeowner asks, “Is solar really worth it?” Jackie can look them in the eye and say, “I did it. Here is exactly what it changed for me.”
An Ethical Approach to Solar
The solar industry has its share of bad actors – companies that overpromise, underdeliver, or disappear after installation. Jackie works closely with Solar Yoda LLC to aggressively vet every installer and financing partner before recommending them to a client. If a company is not transparent, does not stand behind its work, or does not align with Jackie’s ethical values, she simply will not work with them.
This means fewer options, but better options. When Jackie recommends an installer, you can trust that they have been thoroughly evaluated for quality, pricing, warranties, and customer service.
Community Roots
Jackie is deeply connected to the Baltimore-area faith community. She is a proud partner with Bright FM (WRBS 95.1), Baltimore’s Christian radio station, where Solar With Jackie is listed as a Business Impact Partner. She believes that churches and houses of worship should be leaders in environmental stewardship, and she makes it her mission to help congregations go solar affordably.
Whether it is through community events, food drives with local radio partners, or simply having a conversation with a neighbor about their electric bill, Jackie is always looking for ways to serve the people around her.
Get in Touch
Jackie is based in Anne Arundel County, Maryland and serves homeowners, businesses, churches, and non-profits throughout the state. She is always happy to talk – no sales pitch, no pressure, just a real conversation about whether solar makes sense for your situation.
